Hiding Places

We drove by the house tonight – just like we do every night – to check how things are progressing.  I feel like Pinky and the Brain – a cartoon my kids used to love – it’s about a couple of white lab rats and every night Pinky (the stupid one) asks Brain (the smart one, of course), ” “Gee, Brain, what do you want to do tonight?” – to which Brain answers “The same thing we do every night, Pinky—try to take over the world!”  Only in this case — every night I ask “What are going to do tonight?” and Pat answers “The same as every night – we’re going to see the house!”  I haven’t decided who is Pinky or who is Brain — I’m pretty sure that most days we are both Pinky!

Anyway — back to the important stuff – the house!  We drove by tonight and although it was 8:30 p.m., workers were still inside the house putting up the cabinets.  Yes — I have places to store things!  Not just to store them – but to hide them when company comes over.  Don’t tell me you have never stuff things into a drawer because you are too lazy to put it away – but you don’t want it out when the company comes?  I’m sure we are all guilty of over-stuffing at least a couple of drawers with this type of junk!  I could see the workers through the open doors, putting in these lovely hiding places — exciting!

We also noticed that the air conditioner was in its proper place – so we can be nice and cool in our place!

Art Place

When we returned home, I had an e-mail from our Hearthstone Agent, Kathryn – and she told us the sidewalks had been poured today – we were so engrossed in the cabinets and the air conditioner, we didn’t even notice the sidewalks!  Lizzie and Liam are going to LOVE having a place to show off their artwork!  Between the driveway and the sidewalks, it will be like an outdoor art gallery.  It will be a beautiful place.

So — to recap today’s events — we have a PLACE to store and hide our stuff, we have something to cool our PLACE and Lizzie and Liam have a PLACE to show off their artistic talents!  Could it get any better?

  1. this is getting just like an exciting serial, just waiting with baited breath for the next episode. YOU are excited so am I. It brings back lovely memories of our new build in Spain..

Hurry up tomorrow, there may be more to see…..

    • We’re a little frustrated right now because we can’t get in the house (they lock it up tight now!) – so we have resorted to taking pictures through the windows – I know- we’re crazy!
