A Meeting of the Royal Princesses

The royal highnesses

I had to share this picture of my granddaughter with Miss Nebraska (just in case you can’t tell which one is the ‘real’ princess – Miss Nebraska is on the left – the ‘real’ princess is on the right!).  Lizzie was totally star-struck when she met the young beauty queen – after all, she had seen this lovely princess on television in the Miss America contest – and Lizzie could now add her to the other princesses she had met in her life – Snow White, Cinderella, Ariel, Sleeping Beauty and Rapunzel!  To add to the excitement, Lizzie met the rest of the royal court – Miss Rodeo Nebraska (who had the COOLEST crown because it was part of her cowboy hat) and Miss Teen Nebraska.  She was definitely in her element.

When it came time to have her picture taken, Lizzie apparently wanted to make sure that everyone understood her place in this royal line – so instead of standing next to Miss Nebraska like the other pretenders to the throne had done — Lizzie knew that her rightful place was in the seat right next to Miss Nebraska, posed for pictures like Miss Nebraska and waiting for the photographers to capture all of her glory (Lizzie’s, not Miss Nebraska).

Needless to say, I think we all have had a glimpse of what is to come – and God help us all!

    • Her mama was approached by a lady at the luncheon about putting Lizzie in a pageant – that little dream lasted until the lady told her that ONE dress for ONE pageant usually runs around $3000! I think we will let Lizzie be a princess always instead of trying for a reign that only lasts one year.
