I tried my best. I hinted. I cajoled. I threatened. But nothing worked. Over the years, I thought it would take care of itself — but alas it was not meant to be. This became apparent during a conversation between my daughter Jenny and her daughter, Lizzie.
“Lizzie – what do you want for dinner tonight?”
“I want Burger King.”
“No, we are eating at home.”
“I want McDonald’s.”
“I want Summer Kitchen.”
“I want Village Inn.”
“No – I told you we are eating at home. What do you want me to fix for dinner?”
“But Mama you set the chicken nuggets on FIRE!”
I guess I should have tried a little hard to teach Jenny how to cook.
