  Wishing Well

When we were children, we wished we were teenagers.

When we were teenagers, we wished we were adults.

When we were adults, we wished the weekend/vacation/holidays would arrive sooner.

When we had babies, we wished they were potty-trained, could talk and were a little more self-sufficient.

When our children started driving, having a mind of their own and never talking to us, we wished they were babies again.

When we became older, we wished winter was over, that summer was over, that vacation would get here sooner.

When we became even older, we wished we were young again.

It seems to me that we are always wishing our lives away – when what we should be doing is enjoying TODAY.

Stop wishing and start living – and then you won’t need to make any wishes.
