Too tired for words

Sleeping like a baby

Some people think that ‘sleeping like a baby’ means sleeping through the night blissfully unaware of what is going on — but any mother will tell you that no child sleeps through the night every night (and any mother who tells you that hers does is delusional from lack of sleep!).

Others will tell you that it means being totally relaxed and dreaming only good things – again, not totally true — have you ever slept all night in a wet diaper?  I don’t think that’s a comfortable place to be!

No — I think ‘sleeping like a baby’ means you just completely collapse from exhaustion and don’t care what you look like while you sleep – even if it means in a car seat with your mouth hanging wide open and with a silly looking hat in your lap!  Yep — that’s truly sleeping like a baby!
